AMS‘s asbestos analysts are on site at Wilton on Teeside assisting with the preparations to decommission the Croda chemical plant.
Forest Environmental are removing the asbestos from the plant to enable KDC Demolition to dismantle the plant. The AMS analysts job is to carry out air monitoring work to ensure that all of the asbestos is removed by using special air pumps that draw air over a membrane that can be examined under a microscope to ensure that the fibre count is below the stringent levels set by the HSE.
